Some Time Long Ago

Some time long ago, a bowls match did take place. 

This was between a Mr Drake and one of his gentry mates. 

The mat was place upon the green, then a coin went in the air 

I've won the toss and I go first young "Francis" did declare.

From Mat to Jack their Woods would go and they did put up quite a show.

The game we play was then born, when Sir Francis walked the Lawn.
